Speaker Profiles

Dr. Georg Kofler

Media maker, investor, and entrepreneur with vision

Dr. Georg Kofler is one of the best-known media entrepreneurs and digital investors in the German-speaking world. As a serial entrepreneur, pioneer of teleshopping, and expert in communication, marketing, and e-commerce, he knows all the ups and downs of entrepreneurial activity—firsthand. In his lectures, he inspires audiences with a unique mix of experience, innovative strength, and rhetorical brilliance. Whether in the start-up scene or in large corporations, Kofler inspires, motivates, and speaks plainly.

From television producer to e-commerce investor

His entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of ProSieben in 1989, which he developed into the publicly traded ProSieben Media AG (now ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE)—Germany's first major media IPO. With the channel H.O.T., now HSE24, he brought teleshopping to the German market and established it throughout Europe. In 2002, Kofler took over the management of the then struggling pay-TV company Premiere, successfully restructured it, and re-listed it on the stock exchange in 2005. Since 2007, he has been investing in companies in the digital economy, media, and e-commerce sectors through investment companies.

Media professional & "lion" with an entrepreneurial spirit

From 2017 to 2022, Dr. Kofler was an investor on the successful TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (The Lion's Den), where he captivated millions of viewers with his clear stance, analytical acumen, and enthusiasm for young business models. His appearances at forums, conferences, and business events are characterized by practical experience, an impressive career, and a deep understanding of communication, brand development, and entrepreneurial change.

Professor Michael Lehmann

Prof. Michael Lehmann was born in Nuremberg to Gabriele Lehmann, who holds a doctorate, and Joachim Lehmann, a senior civil servant. After attending the Jesuit boarding school Kolleg St. Blasien and graduating in 1967, Prof. Lehmann began studying law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in the winter semester of 1967/68. During this time, he took breaks to study languages in other European countries (such as Florence). In 1971, he passed the first state law examination and devoted himself to economics as a second degree at the Faculty of Economics at LMU, which he successfully completed in 1976 with a degree in business administration.

From 1972, he worked as a research assistant and scholarship holder, and from 1975 as a consultant for Italian law at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Competition, and Copyright Law in Munich and at the University Institute for Industrial Property and Copyright Law. At the same time, he was personal assistant to Prof. Gerhard Schricker. From 1971 to 1975, he completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich. In 1973, he received his doctorate in law under G. Schricker, and in 1975, he successfully passed the second state law examination. In 1980, he received his habilitation (venia legendi) in civil law, commercial law, business law, and comparative law.

After working in Regensburg and Würzburg, he became a professor of civil law, intellectual property law, labor law, commercial law, and comparative law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in January 1982. There, he eventually took over the professorship for civil law, commercial and economic law, copyright law, and intellectual property law in 1996. In addition, he had been working as a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich since the 1980s.
