When you visit this website, your browser transmits technically necessary data, which is stored in the log files of our hosting provider:
Purpose: Delivering the website, ensuring system security, defending against attacks and analysing errors.

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Content is delivered via servers in the European Union. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider. To evaluate page views statistically, we use Vercel Web Analytics by Vercel Inc. (address see Hosting). No cookies are set and no information is stored on your device. The page visited, the referring page, the country as well as device type, operating system and browser are recorded. Visitors are only distinguished by a hash value derived from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours. Data is not attributed to any individual and there is no cross-site tracking. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in designing our website according to demand (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For any transfer to the USA, the information under Hosting applies.
All fonts used on this website are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or other external font services, and no data is transferred to third parties.
Images in our articles, podcast episodes and events are delivered via the content delivery network of Sanity (Sanity AS, Oslo, Norway, and Sanity Inc., San Francisco, USA; address cdn.sanity.io). When these images are loaded, your IP address is transmitted to the provider so that it can deliver the file to your browser. No cookies are set in the process.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in fast and reliable delivery of content. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider. Where data is transferred to the USA, the transfer is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
If you write to us using the form on the contact page, we process the data you provide: name, company, company size, email address, subject and, optionally, telephone number and your message.
Purpose: Processing and answering your enquiry.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to the conclusion or performance of an engagement, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Retention period: We delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with in full and no statutory retention obligations apply. If the enquiry leads to an engagement, the professional and commercial retention periods apply, in particular six years under Section 50(1) BRAO.
Transmission: Your details are not stored in a database but sent to us by email; you also receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. For the technical sending of these emails, we use our website service provider, which in turn uses the email service Brevo of Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin. Both are bound by our instructions as processor or sub-processor under Art. 28 GDPR; processing takes place on servers in the European Union.
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your details to deal with your request on the same legal bases. Please note that unencrypted emails can be read by third parties in transit. For confidential content, we are happy to agree an encrypted means of transmission.
On our podcast pages, we embed a player provided by Apple Inc., One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA. The player is only loaded after you have given your express consent. Before you consent, you only see a placeholder and no connection to Apple is established.
If you load the player, your IP address is transmitted to Apple; Apple may set cookies and collect usage data. We have no influence over this processing.
Legal basis: Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the ‘Cookie settings’ link in the page footer. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
This website sets no tracking or marketing cookies and does not use any analytics services. The only thing stored is your choice in the cookie notice, in your browser's local storage (localStorage) under the key ld-consent-v1. This information does not leave your device.
Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, as storage is necessary to implement your choice; additionally Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Further details are available on our cookies page.
In the page footer, we link to our profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X. These are simple links, not social plugins. No data is transmitted to the operators when you visit this website. Only when you click one of these links are you taken to the respective network, whose own privacy policy then applies to its data processing.
We only pass on personal data if you have given your consent, if disclosure is necessary for the performance of a contract, if there is a legal obligation or if a legitimate interest justifies it. Service providers we use (Vercel for hosting, Brevo for sending contact form emails, Sanity for delivering images) are contractually bound under Art. 28 GDPR and process data solely on our instructions.
